Pakistan’s first electric bus hits roads of Karachi

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Transport Owais Qadir Shah inaugurated the first electric bus in Karachi.
Pakistan’s first electric bus launched in Karachi under public-private partnership will run from Tower to Sohrab Goth via M.A Jinnah Road and Shah re Pakistan. The project is planned to begin operations with 10 stops and the fare for one stop would be as low as Rs. 4 per km.
Speaking on the occasion, Transport Minister said this is a fully electric bus and vowed to add more buses to this fleet every month. He said that the Sindh government is going to tender for 250 buses soon.
On this occasion the Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhary congratulated Sindh Government on his Twitter account. He further expressed his desire to see Punjab and KPK follow suit
