Don't get married, Indian minister's unique advice to control population

A minister from the Indian state of Nagaland came up with a recipe to curb the growing population that went viral on social media.

“Don’t marry like me and do your part for a sustainable future,” he said on World Population Day.

Minister Jane Imna added in her tweet that let’s join the movement of unmarried people today.

Who is Temjen Imna?

Temjen Imna Along Longkumer is the State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party of Nagaland since 15 January 2020. He has been elected in Nagaland Legislative Assembly election in 2018  as candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party. He is minister of Higher and Technical education in Fourth Neiphiu Rio ministry from 2018.

A days back, the Nagaland minister posted a screenshot of the search results for his name on Twitter. In addition to his age and biography, it seemed the internet was particularly interested in learning about his wife, media reported.

Sharing the screenshot on Twitter, he wrote, “Ayalee, @Google search excites me. I am still looking for her!”

Nagaland is a state in northeastern India. It is bordered by the state of Arunachal Pradesh to the north, Assam to the west, Manipur to the south and the Sagaing Region of Myanmar to the east.
