KARACHI, Mar 30,2023 – Pakistan Darawar Alliance took out a rally to protest against forced conversion and marriage of underage Hindu girls here on Thursday.
The alliance is consisting people from different scheduled caste communities, who are marginalized and feeling sense of deprivation.
Led by Fakir Shewa Kachhi, Jaipal Das, Sardar Khemchand Bheel, Nirmal Kumar Meghwar, Dr Amarshi Kachhi, Mansingh Thakur rally started from Karachi Press Club to Sindh Assembly Building. The participants were carrying banners and placard inscribed slogans.
Their leaders complained that despite assurance held by the government incidents of forced conversion Hindu girls for marriage continued.
The protesters presented a 15-points charter. They were raising slogans in support of their demands.
Their demands included stop forced marriage after force conversion of Hindu girls, implementation on underage marriage law in letter and spirit, allocate seats in Sindh Assembly for Darawar communities including Kachhi, Bheel, Kolhi, Meghwar, Jogi, Bagri, Oad, Rebari and others. They also demanded dual vote right for minorities, restoration of Thar Express, complete implementation on scheduled castes quota in admissions and jobs, construction of hostels from minority fund for students in Karachi and Hyderabad.
They also raised concerned about count of Darawar in census and demanded of the concerned authorities to ensure entry of these marginalized communities.
