Sep 26,2021- Cyclone Gulab, which formed in the Bay of Bengal, will hit the coasts of the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Orissa on Sunday evening.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Cyclone Gulab will hit the coastal areas between Gopalpur in Orissa and Kalinga Putnam in Andhra Pradesh with winds of up to 95 kmph.
People are being evacuated from the coastal areas of the two Indian states to avoid the devastation of the storm.
According to Indian meteorologist Mahesh Palawat, cyclonic storms in the Bay of Bengal are a rare meteorological activity of their kind, as cyclones do not form in the Arabian Sea or the Bay of Bengal in the monsoon, generally they are formed in October and November.
He said that the deep depression in the Bay of Bengal has intensified which has turned into a cyclonic storm.
The storm could cause rains in southern Pakistan and Karachi after crossing Central India and Gujarat.
It should be noted that the name of this Cyclone Gulab has been suggested by Pakistan. (Monitoring Desk)
