KARACHI 2,2021 – A Judicial Magistrate court in Karachi has restrained the police from lodging cases against people on violation of coronavirus SOPs.
Judicial Magistrate East has stopped the police in East and Korangi districts from arresting people or registering a case against them for violating Section 144.
The court also directed the police to release the people arrested for violating SOPs.
The police can only register a complaint against the violators, in case of severe violations, the court said.
The Sindh government under decision of the provincial task force on coronavirus has imposed a nine-day ‘partial lockdown’ in Karachi and all other cities on July 31, as the number of coronavirus cases continues to rise.
Till then, all markets, shopping malls, other shops, and government offices will remain closed.
