Bollywood actor Raj Babbar awarded 2 years imprisonment
Bollywood actor and Indian politician Raj Babbar was sentenced to two years in prison in a 26-year-old case.
Raj Babbar was found guilty of causing damage to a government official while performing his duties and the other three charges were proved.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 8,500 on the accused.
An FIR was registered against the actor by the polling officer during the May 1996 elections.
At that time, Raj Babbar was contesting the elections from the Samajwadi Party.
He joined the Samajwadi Party in the early 90s and was nominated to the Rajya Sabha in 1994.
