Backdoor contacts between PPP and PML-N show progress

LAHORE Aug 11,2021- Progress has been reported in the backdoor contacts between the PPP and the PML-N.

The PPP co-ordinator said that the government allies are also ready for in-house changes.

PPP sources claimed that more than 25 MNA from ruling party as well as its have assured to support the move.

Sources claimed that 31 Assembly members in Punjab will support the opposition’s move.

PML-N sources said that the PML-N leaders havesought time on the PPP’s offer.

Responding to the PPP, the PML-N coordinator said that they would respond after consulting the leadership.

On the other hand, a summit of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was held under the chairmanship of Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

The meeting was attended by Leader of the Opposition Shahbaz Sharif, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Sajid Mir, Mir Kabir Shahi, Akram Khan Durrani, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao and Owais Noorani.

Maryam Nawaz, daughter of PML-N vice president and Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, attended the meeting via video link, as Maryam Nawaz was suffering from corona.
